Midys

The more you are positive and say, ‘I want to have a good life,’ the more you build that reality for yourself by creating the life that you want.
— Chris Pine

Alright people, come clean with it. Are you happy right now? If not, why not? Those days are over. There’s a new zebra in the Sahara and that wondering desert stallion is you. It’s summer time, and summer has the heat. Let’s get some of that heat and make a fire. Add some s’mores to the mix while you’re at it. Throw some logs on the coals. Invite the squad, get back to your roots and let’s send it this summer.

Conversation shift. Are you working a job you don’t like? Are you in a relationship that is starving your personal growth? Are you in a major that doesn’t motivate you to learn? Immensely important… are you taking time to take care of yourself? These are just some starter questions you should ask yourself before you chase that dream you’ve been dying to do this summer. Don’t let your worries weigh you down and just make that decision. We make decisions from sunrise to sunset; why not make one that you want to do? Let go of all the stressors and start a new chapter. The world is waiting for your new narrative. Please share it with us.

For you to finally make the decision to plan the big trip, start the new hobby, create your dream company, start that new book or start the new workout plan, you must understand some of the rules to this game we’re all playing…

There is order and there is chaos. They go hand in hand. Imagine two fish that are chasing each other in a vast pond for eternity. One named Order, the other named Chaos. Order swims a steady pattern whereas Chaos’ pattern is more jagged. The chase produces a fluid, harmonious song. After they catch up to each other, the fish start to realize that they’re the only two fish in the pond and their mouths are just a little too small to eat each other. If Order ate Chaos then the chase would stop. If Chaos ate Order then the same thing would happen. But, they can’t consume each other. They are united together through their struggle and without it, they wouldn’t possess direction or purpose in this vast pond.

In the silence, they realize they can’t exist without the other because their worlds would end. They recognize that their movements were more like a dance rather than a chase. Weaving in and out, mending and forming new paths. Learning as they go. In this strange realization, they learn that they are each other’s greatest teachers, not enemies. It allows them to look up since they have been focused on each other for so long. They awaken to the idea of accepting things the way they are and try to find meaning within their strange relationship.

You’re one of the billions of organisms in the pond (the cosmos) that’s caught in the middle of the dance between Order and Chaos. Like the fish, take some time to look up and find meaning instead of floating aimlessly. Order and Chaos will take turns leading the journey as you latch onto their backs. Embrace the ups and endure the downs for they are all part of the ride. You can’t have one without the other. Enjoy this life, as complicated as it is.

Now that we know a watered-down explanation of reality, it’s time to make something out of it. If you’ve read this far, we’re on this journey together. Let’s have dreams, tackle them, share them with the world and inspire others to do the same. Fear is just a feeling. Overcoming that fear gives life a new resonance. Do something you’ve never done this summer because why not? The world is waiting for you. It’s finally summer. Use fear as your launch pad and lift off.

Take care,

Paracosm

I sense the world might be more dreamlike, metaphorical, and poetic than we currently believe... I wouldn’t be surprised if poetry... in the sense of a world filled with metaphor, rhyme, and recurring patterns, shapes and designs... is how the world works. The world isn’t logical, it’s a song.
— David Byrne

A paracosm is a detailed abstract world typically imagined during our childhood years to orient ourselves with reality. One must have a profound relationship with their subjective universe to create yet another world. We all dream, don’t we? But there are few that have the courage to live out their fantasies. You can be one of those people if you aren’t already. If you visited earth from the outside you would think this place is something out of a science fiction movie. Like, whales? Seriously? Whales are insane. This life is an extraordinary dream if you think about it long enough. Why do we try so hard to make it ordinary?

Dreaming is fun, isn’t it? It allows you to take a step out of the shit you’re currently stepping in and feel a sense of joy and adventure. John Muir puts it best, “The power of imagination makes us infinite.” Boy, that’s deep. The mind can create anything. Your body can do anything. Combine the two and anything is possible.

When we’re kids we have these big dreams. Why do we stop as we grow old? Dad, I want to be an astronaut. Mom, I’m going to be ten feet tall! I’m going to learn how to fly and we’re going to go everywhere together. Mom, Dad, we’re going to live forever. These are wonderful thoughts and feel so real. So you may ask, how can I keep dreaming but not live in delusion? How can I live everyday like a child but function as an adult? You must find an occupation that makes you feel fulfilled and train your mindset. It is the only way.

Here are some concepts we have realized and we hope it helps you acquire the life you truly desire:

🤯     Consciousness. Develop a healthy consciousness through a self-proclaimed narrative that invigorates you. Use your past as the prologue and live out your best life.

✈️     Travel. Travel physically and metaphysically. Go experience the world so you can see this life from another perspective. We appreciate things more when we separate ourselves from them. Let your spirit hatch and find knowledge through new experiences.

🎭     Ego. Crush your ego and dedicate your actions to a noble cause. Our actions become more and more selfless this way. This world is so vast, complex and intricate. Once you understand that the world does not revolve around you, it allows you to become one with the universe and become more of what you are now.

⚡️    Energy. All of this is energy, flowing in the cosmos. To do anything, it requires a massive amount of energy. Surround yourself with people on the same wavelength and enjoy this time while we have it. Put your energy towards something you love.

🏄‍♂️    Action. We can dream all day long but nothing will take place without action. We live in a reality directed by cause and effect. Work hard, stay humble and enjoy the process. Dedicate yourself to an existential cause and you’ll have existential effects.

🙏     Dogma. Free yourself of dogma. Let go of the opinions of everyone else and create your own. Your closest friend is your mind. Why be your own worst enemy? Any thoughts that weigh you down should be replaced with thoughts that pull you up.

🌺     Passion. Passion is essential to acquire any big dream. It is the very driving force that fuels us despite trials and tribulations. Our physical selves may die but passion cannot be taken from us.

🌅     Mornings. Take advantage of your mornings. We’ve heard it since the dawn of time, seize the day. Run the day or it will run you.

😄     Happiness. Happiness is more goal driven whereas joy is constant. Setting a goal and achieving it makes us happy and feel good about ourselves. Joy is found in the moment. Appreciate the now because it’s all we have.

🎶     Music. Find some music that gets you amped. Sometimes a good song is all you need to get through a tough week. Life is harmonious when you let it be.

⛓     Family. Family love is the best love. Whenever you are trying to build something great you must start with a firm base. Family can provide just that and if not, you must be the provider.

🥅     Goals. We can dream all day long but none of it will take place without goals. Set some achievable, realistic and fun goals that are the stepping stones to your paradise.

🕰     Time. The past, present and future is an illusion. Your future is composed of all your “nows”. Put in your best effort in the moment because your “nows” add up.

👁     Focus. We live in a time full of distractions. Our phones have become a part of our body and social media has become a place where most people like to hang out. Moderation is key. Your experience on earth depends on what you focus on. Choose wisely.

🧙‍♂️    Meaning. This life can be pretty miserable if you go through it without purpose. Sit down, turn off your phone and dive into your subconscious mind. Find something worth living every day for. Design your own creed composed of the ideals you strive for.

🔭     Perspective. Shakespeare once said that, “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Your mind is the greatest tool we have. Be careful what you construct in your mind because it will transpire your reality. Use failure as feedback.

💪     Struggle. We are all fighting for our survival. Find meaning in the struggle and help others through it. Don’t be too hard on yourself either, this life is hard enough.

In summary, Midys is our paracosm. It’s the abstract dream world we have made for ourselves that makes this reality the most gratifying. It allows us to be free and we want you to feel the same way. We hope this blog has made an impact on you, big or small, to go after the things that excite you. We’re two normal guys with abnormal appetites. We work jobs that we love but it’s just a taste. We want the freedom. We want to experience as much as we can. We’ve been given so much in this world and we want to give it all back because we appreciate it.

Thank you so much for following us on our journey and we hope you are on a journey of your own. Next week will be our last blog post for volume 1 and we want to say thank you for reading this far. We’re all a bunch of chickens but only a few of us end up hatching. Start hatching 🐣

Struggle

I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death.
— Thomas Paine

You ever make a mistake you didn’t think you could escape? Almost like you’re swimming up to the top but every time you get a breath of air the water rises twice as high?

Everyone is watching. Your back and shoulders start to burn. Your calves start to cramp. The light you see from the surface starts to dim. You cry out yet, hear nothing but your echo. Your body is giving out. The world is watching behind a glass screen laughing and snapchatting. You are all alone with nothing but your mind blinded by the camera flash. Your lungs fill with water. Coughing, convulsing, looking for a way out. You start to descend, motionless, and when you wake up from your nightmare, eyes wide open, you find yourself drowning all over again. Welcome to the struggle, my friend. It’s 2018 and we’re all drowning for approval of people that don’t care.

As life begins, struggle follows. Birth is no easy feat. It’s brutal, painful and kills many in the process. You are born into struggle and the more you run from it, the more you will be detached from the nature of this reality. Many people fear struggle and failure. Why fear something that is unescapable? That sounds psychotic, doesn’t it? Why not face it and challenge it? Where the hell is your self-worth? We act like we don’t have a choice. Aren’t you worth fighting for? Why do we fear failure when it should excite us? For failure is feedback and without feedback how can one learn? If you find yourself drowning every day it’s time to learn how to swim.

If you haven’t noticed already, this life is a self-actualization process. You discover who you are through your actions. We hear it from religion in phrases like “you reap what you sow,” or from more of a scientific philosophy, “cause and effect”. Couldn’t you argue that through both statements nothing happens without cause? Therefore, couldn't you argue that everything does happen for a reason if you consider cause and reason to be synonyms? Could it be that your cause ultimately determines the overall effect of your life?

Our willingness to learn and adapt is crucial in our survival. We must be primal warriors. Have fun with your war paint. People that cannot obtain their idea of success aren’t “failures.” Perhaps we are stubborn and choose not to learn? Stuck in a loop, spiraling out of control without direction. In our decision not to learn, not only are we staying stagnant, we are falling behind. We tend to think that struggles are obstacles in our path when in reality, they are the very road we must take in order to reach our self-proclaimed destination.

Nature is harsh, yet just. Survival is not set, it is a choice. There is a reason why you can read this right now and it is because you, as well as your ancestors, made the decision to fight. After enough battles you begin to understand the war we live in. Don’t fear the struggle, accept it and help others through it.

It’s fascinating to witness a single wildflower grow through a tiny crevasse of limestone in the Texas Hill Country. All alone with little rain, scorching heat, minimal room for growth and after lots of time the flower begins to form. Bit by bit, it takes its shape and stands tall just to die and start all over again. We share a mutual bond in this struggle and only the willing survive because death cannot kill what can never die.

Perspective

Winners have the ability to step back from the canvas of their lives like an artist gaining perspective. They make their lives a work of art – an individual masterpiece.
— Denis Waitley

Imagine yourself as a sailor looking out from the front of your ship. The wind in your face, the seagulls soaring past the masts, the water crashing up against the forward and the sun dancing on your face, freckle to freckle. A moment of clarity begins to form until your eyes start to narrow. Tears run down your face as you think about all that you have left behind. Past people, relationships, jobs, habits, experiences and memories. You want to leave your past life to feel alive yet the past life you’ve lived is the only thing keeping you alive. You are alone on this personal journey into the open sea and the only friend you have is the parrot on your shoulder named Perspective.

The quality of your life begins with your understanding of it. The ability to reason and create understanding is a precious gift to see life as you wish. Why do you think so many people are attached to their beliefs? It provides an interpretation of their meaning of existence. Something human beings desire to understand because it provides direction or purpose… a reason to go on. Isn’t that an interesting phenomenon? What’s your reason and why do you care to have one?

Life is fleeting. You may lose your job. People you love will die. Your house may be destroyed in a storm. Knowing that our externals are fleeting, why don’t we cherish them more? Knowing that death and misfortune is approaching shouldn’t we enjoy life that much more? Knowing that this is all here for such a short time shouldn’t we be more present in our loved ones’ lives? Don’t let a day go by wasted, though this is only a perspective.

Every morning, we have a choice. Either we run the day or we get trampled by it. What helps us get out of bed and slip on our worn-out running shoes for the track meet of today? Perspective. It’s so easy to quit the race, but you have the choice to keep moving forward, don’t you? The world we live in today is fast-paced and ruthless. If you’re not taking care of yourself, it’s easy to lose focus and run off course. You may not know where you are going but you know your worth, so go out and get it. Here are some tips on maintaining a healthy perspective in the pursuit of gettin’ it:

1.    Wake up and give thanks. What’s the point in wallowing in what we don’t have? Make a list in the morning; you’d be surprised about how much you do have. You will start to appreciate people and things deeper.

2.    Put a smile on your face. Do your best to be in control of your thoughts and don’t let outside forces determine your happiness.

3.    Healthy self-talk throughout the day. The more you hate yourself the more you’ll hate your circumstances. Give yourself some credit, you’re still here aren’t you?

4.    Take action. Your mental garbage can can only take so much clutter, so remember to take the trash out because your inaction piles up and it stinks. What’s the point of a good game plan if you can’t execute?

5.    Have a sense of humor. Your sense of humor will help you be more optimistic. Like have you ever really looked at yourself in the mirror? Humans are strange looking and crazy. All of this is nuts if you think about it long enough.

6.    Seeing things for what they are. A challenge is a challenge. Will you receive it as opportunity and learn? Or, will you barely get through it and let it burn?

7.    Enjoy the process. You’re going to hit rock bottom. Good, because you can’t go any lower. It is quite literally only up from here. Find joy in the climb because the view is nice from the top but prepare yourself for the way down. This is one huge cycle.

8.    Past, Present, Future. The past can make you depressed, the present can give you peace and the future can make you anxious. Learn from the past and work diligently in the present to ensure a desirable future.

9.    Keep your eye on the prize. Create the life you want to have in your mind. Cultivate small achievable daily goals because they will manifest into the big goals over time. No matter the challenge, at least you know you’re working towards improving yourself and your circumstances. Keep your eye on the prize.

Back to getting nautical… You’re adjusting your sails and over the horizon you see a land mass appearing. This island may have danger, safety, opportunity, tragedy, friends, enemies, new beginnings or violent endings. Ultimately, you decide. When you first started reading this, you were the sailor on the ship; now you’re landing on the island. You have one friend to talk to and that’s your faithful parrot friend, Perspective. She’s telling you it’s a wild jungle out there. You ask her what to expect and she whispers in your ear, “Dude, you’re kinda fucked so find something you like and enjoy this jungle while you can.” What would we do without Perspective?

Take care,

Meaning

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.
— Friedrich Nietzsche

There is no objective meaning to life, it is purely subjective. It is up to you to provide the meaning. All the destructive and harmful injustices in the world are not part of some pre-designed plan, they were the choices people made. We all have a choice. There are infinite outcomes for your short life here. What choices will you make to determine your experience here and beyond? Will you live in a prism of your own shortcomings on a never-ending loop or will you choose to create a life worth surviving for?

A lot of what we do derives from our subconscious survival instincts as animals. We seek out religion, partners, friends, pets etc. because they bring us comfort. Most mammals travel in packs by no mistake; the pack supplements security. The interesting paradox about this game we play is that the only way to find ultimate comfort or security is to separate ourselves from it. Pick a time this week, turn off your phone, drop all the bullshit you’ve been told to believe and seek truths that actually mean something to you. Ask yourself, what am I? Who am I? Is there a me or am I a we? What do I value? What will I do here? Most importantly… why am I doing it? Your intentions define you.

This is really terrifying for us all, but the world’s greatest treasures are often found in the darkest, most quiet places. This is how you figure out who you truly are. Suffering, and how you respond to it defines you. It is much more difficult going through this experience alone. That is why you must be your closest friend when things get inevitably tough. After all, we are mammals and it is in our very nature to desire being nurtured. It is also in our nature to destroy and conquer as we have seen proven time and time again. One must learn how to defend thy self and nurture thy self in this battle to find balance.

Animals kill or be killed because they have no other choice. We do. As human beings, we can reason and create a higher standard of living for ourselves and others. If you are struggling to find meaning, this should be enough. Yes, we are in chaos but we can fight for a better tomorrow. We all need help; be the light when so many others choose darkness.

If you’re confused about what you should do in your life, let this be a start. First = Introspection. Second = Action. Third = Find a herd. Finally... enjoy the process. Reading all the books, going to all the seminars and having a mentor is a waste of time if you can’t carry out the wisdom into practice. Whatever makes you feel alive, share it with the world to allow others to see the beauty of what we call life. The problem in the world is not that people cannot see, it is because we choose not to.

Take care,

Focus

You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.
— Mark Twain

Have you ever felt like your life is a roaring river getting shifted by the rapids? Like the days are speeding by but you’re stuck in neutral? We believe it is because you’re picturing the idea of what your life should be like but you’re not putting in the effort required to get there. It is okay, most of us are going through the same struggle. However, when your goals are more important than the noise, life gets quiet. It’s tranquil and flows easy like a creek. Natural and consistent. But, how can we possibly silence the distractions when they are all around us daily? Focus.

A lot of people say they don’t know where they’re going in life. Why is that? It derives from either a lack of focus or focusing on ideas that do not provide direction. When you’re driving a car, the vehicle is going to go where your eyes go. Think of your focus as the fuel for your engine. Without focus, your engine is empty. Your engine is your mind which steers your body; your vehicle on this journey. Your focus will give directions to your mind and your body will follow. The whole point of this experience is to find yourself but how can you do that when you don’t know where you are going?

Chose a group of values you cherish and mold your life around them. That will create a clear path. What values will you focus on? How can you put these virtues into action? Unfortunately, there will be many distracting billboards along the way advertising false fulfillment pulling you down paths with nothing but violent delights and dead ends… don’t give in. Your inner voice is directing you down a path with pure light, don’t lose faith in the fog.

Focus on what makes you feel happy. For the wisdom we gain through our sufferings allow us to be conscious of what makes us feel the opposite. Please don’t allow yourself to suffer another day. If you’re putting your energy into a million different things you’re going to wear yourself out. Simplify your life, focus on what matters to you and act.

The possibilities in this life are limitless, hone in on your calling. Your experience here is dependent upon your imagination and your keen focus on it. Imagine a life that you actually enjoy living and stick to it. No bullshit, true friends, fulfilling experiences, hard work and satisfying results. If you’re sighting in a rifle you will miss the target every time if your scope is out of focus. You’ve only got one shot, so adjust the focus until your target is clear. You don’t want to miss.

This week is yours. Take a deep breath and relax. Focus on the task at hand, see it for what it is and shift your focus to the next step on your hike. Everyone in this world hikes the trail but not everyone gets to where they want to go. You have a choice from here on out. Pick a trail that excites you but remember you can’t climb two trails at once. Focus on the ascent and enjoy the climb so when you get to the top of the mountain the view is clear and always was.

Take care,

Time

Time is what keeps everything from happening at once.
— Ray Cummings

Before reading this, we challenge you to drop your current understanding of time and open your mind to a new perspective. For the present, past and future is a mere illusion.

The most precious thing in the world is the now. You being here, you reading this and being able to think independently. What a fascinating thing. We share a common experience with the universe through the experience of conception and expansion. Say all of this was created by the big bang; a combination of heat, light, energy and other particles that eventually turned into atoms forming you, the world and everything else. When a person is conceived, it is a very similar experience. Out of the dark comes light, heat, energy, sperm, egg and then… you. The universe is expanding infinitely and so are we through our consciousness. Don’t fear time because it does not determine your fate. What you orchestrate in your mind and what you put into action will determine the future, not time.

The mind doesn’t operate on time. Our physical bodies do. We are born, our bodies are worn and then we die, yet time has no beginning or end, it just is. Matter (your body) operates in relation to the time dimension whereas energy (your mind) operates in relation to a timeless dimension. Both equally “real.” Time is created by us as we become conscious of our surroundings and start to weave together our life events. We perceive time as the becoming process of conditioned things as a sort of measurement. For instance, we say things like, “That person lived for 80 years.” Couldn’t you argue that people live on long after their deaths through memories and stories? Did they ever really “die” or did they “live”?

When we dream, magic happens. It is awfully strange that from dreams that don’t “exist” your heart rate can spike and you can sweat as if you’re in a “real” situation. Your body doesn’t know the difference between the dream and the physical world. Wild. Your body is like a machine that operates to whatever the mind is pumping into it. So, if time does not determine your experience here what does? Your mind. What you think about, you bring about.

The best time spent is when time is absent. Thus, where the idea of letting go and enjoying life comes from. Next time someone wants to have a conversation with you, be present and give them your full attention. There is no better gift than being present, that is why it is called the present!

Have no fear because your birth, your death and this moment has already happened. Have you ever felt Déjà vu, like you’ve experienced something before? You have. Time creates the illusion between the past, present and future. Dream big, use your intellect and intuition to take rightful action because through this process anything can happen. It’s inevitable. Your dream is as real as the shirt you have on, you just can’t see it with the eyes you’ve been given.

Take some time for yourself today in whatever way relaxes you most and picture your ideal life. Once you realize that your mind functions the same way as the universe, you can start to mold your reality to your liking through imagination. Your mind is the magic and your body is the wand. Start launching out some heavy magic, it’s awesome. The more you focus on something, the more “real” it gets. As the motion of the ocean never ceases, neither does your mind. Take a deep breath and smile because your life has already taken place and is taken care of. Stop fighting the wave and just enjoy the beauty.

Take care,

Goals

Confusion of goals and perfection of means seems, in my opinion, to characterize our age.
— Albert Einstein

Have a plan, set goals that challenge your comfort zone and sculpt a masterpiece. When it’s all over, what kind of sculpture will you gaze upon when you go into the next life? What kind of life will you have led? Don’t wish that you had a better life, wish that you could have been better. How do we become better and more than what we are now? Goals.

There is nothing wrong with having a plan, but don’t set your goals to where they’re impractical, irrational or completely resistant to change. Your goals should be practical, flexible and rational. On the other hand, your dreams should be irrational, that’s what makes dreams, dreams. Irrationality makes life interesting. Like the balance of the yin and the yang, like the balance of good and evil, two balanced opposing forces are controlling the expansion of entropy creating life. Entropy is the unpredictable disorder in the universe that expands infinitely. Start by finding a balance between your rational goals and irrational dreams through a self-proclaimed narrative that is also open to change. This is the driving force behind the universe and your experience here, consciousness.

This is when you start to realize there is something true to existence. The truth is your personal journey also known as, destiny. Bring the loud because the road less traveled by is quiet. Balance is your golden ticket to board the plane voyaging to your best life. The life you know you’re worth.

No one knows your worth but you. This is a gift that is given to you. Whether it’s from your parents, a higher power or your environment, or not, you’re going to go through your life in the constant struggle to be “best” when living in the Wild West. In the West, we have an inherent desire to reach our full potential because we believe democracy and capitalism give us our best chance. This ideology is highly efficient in terms of overall production but works on our psyche. It’s a great system but like all great systems no matter how well-planned, is bound to have obstacles along the way. The best way to handle school, work and life against all odds of entropy? Balance between your goals and dreams and having fun in the process. Smile 😊

We are not meeting our expectations we have set for our self. Fine. New narrative. Today craft a plan with stepping stone goals to reach your lofty dreams. Act on these thoughts. Start your day with just making your bed and then complete another little goal because they add up over time producing incredible results. The Great Wall of China could not have been made without the placement of the first brick along with the careful and creative placement of all the rest that followed. Set small goals, find happiness in your little successes and soon enough the big dreams start to appear. When you’re going about your Monday today and a negative thought comes to mind, kick it to the curb. Misfortune is inevitable but not the master of your fate. Fight for your slim chance in this dark void because through the wake of your path creates light.

Take care,

Family

If you don’t have your friends and your family, what do you really have? You can have all the money in the world, but with no friends and no family, it’s no good.
— Meek Mill

The best time spent is when the pressure of time does not direct your actions. In the West, we live in a world that is rushed, paycheck to paycheck. Unfortunately, most of our lives are dictated by the minute. Wake up at 7:00am, get to work at 8:00am, work until 5:00pm. Disappear on the weekend. Repeat. Retire. Live again for a little while. Grow old. Funeral. End. Nah fam.

We began as hunter gatherers that woke up when the sun stretched its arms to the universe and went to sleep when the moon said what’s up. Enjoying the ascension of the sun, spending time with those close to us and gazing up at the stars at night while contemplating existence gave life a distinct meaning. Some tribes even had ceremonial dances, rituals, and songs that brought nothing but peace and laughter to adults and kids alike. This sense of belonging, security and community is family. What a beautiful thing that is. A strong sense of family allows our primal physiological needs to be met, our safety secured, our capacity to love reciprocated, our self-esteem valued and the opportunity to attain self-actualization possible. What more could you want?

Back to the topic of time, our most meaningful moments are those dictated not by time but by feeling. When you laugh with your friends and family until your stomach hurts, it doesn’t matter what you’re going through, you feel better. There is something we should draw from this. The feeling laughter evokes from within us is powerful and arguably stems from the root of what it means to be human. In order for us to be happy in the most primal sense, we must have a foundation that makes us feel good. Surround yourself with people that love you, share that love with others and live a life not dictated by fear or time but by that of fulfillment, giving and feeling. Family allows us to feel in a way that is incomprehensible, good and bad.

Human beings are not designed to have their lives dictated by a schedule. No wonder the suicide, depression and anxiety rates in the United States are skyrocketing. There is nothing wrong with a plan and everyone should have one that desires a productive life. Though, if you design a schedule that wears you down to the bone just to get to tomorrow you will likely have a bad time. We as a society have created the schedule. Why? Because this produces maximum output. What defines maximum output for a society? Well, that’s subjective. Anyways… family doesn’t have a set schedule like most things that make us happy. Ponder this and relate it to your current state of affairs and career path.

Wouldn’t life be incredible if it was composed of nothing but family time and the things we like to do most? Maybe it is, but we chose to spend our time in a way that isn’t necessarily aligned with the true nature of what is going on here. Family, creativity, imagination and passion makes us feel infinite whereas material pleasure makes us feel finite. Discover a passion or career path that makes you feel empowered, alive and infinite. One produces the greatest results when they’re enjoying the process hence where creativity comes from. Possibly another quality that stems from the root of what makes us human. We are all family no matter where you are from or what language you speak. Come together with those around you, enjoy today and be that feeling of family for someone else.

Take care,

Music

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.
— Plato

Music leads us to the very core of what it means to be human. You know when you hear a song and it sends you to a different place? Suddenly, you start to smile cheek to cheek and goosebumps start to form rippling from your neck to your wrists. Your mind begins to free itself of anything stressful and you feel a sense of overwhelming happiness. This is when you join the symphony of the universe and we all play a different instrument in the orchestra. Each person different, producing a different sound but equally as important.

Imagine yourself as your favorite genre. Whether it’s smooth jazz, classic rock, electronic or mumble rap you can tell when it’s done right because it produces a beautiful vibration that resonates within your being. Reality is composed of the frequencies playing all around and from us. Though we cannot see someone’s aura physically that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Bats see the world through echolocation; who are we to say that everything we see is exactly the way it seems? Find some music that allows you to experience a world that is not seen but felt.

Without music, existence would have been a mistake. Music has a peculiar elegance to it in its creative nature. Bake in an early morning sunrise and pay careful attention to the song of nature next time you get the chance. Nature’s instinctive sounds make up the concert of the Earth. It’s interesting how fast paced and rushed the rhythm is of honking horns and city life. The rhythm of nature is much more fluid and natural. The harmony of nature and the harmony of being human share the same frequency which is why we feel so connected to nature. It is because you are it. A tree doesn’t have a life span with a set age on it, neither does your spirit. Let’s just say you’re in this thing for eternity so find a way to enjoy it. Life gets hard when we attach ourselves to things, let go and live a life you believe in. Being true to yourself will allow you to be true to the universe which produces some enlightening experiences.

So many cultures use songs to explain their spiritual journeys because a speech just wouldn’t do it justice. Why do songs help explain reality? Because reality is a song. Create a playlist of songs to help guide you on your journey of self-discovery. If you want to have happy, passionate, and enjoyable days find songs that bring these feelings out of you. Find some music you can vibe with so you’ll take a step out of this world and plunge into the harmony of the beyond.

Mastering your communication with the universe (yourself) will allow you to discover your calling and you can’t help but laugh when you find it. Next time you’re singing in the shower, bobbing your head in your car or dancing like a fool, soak in these moments because it is in those moments where we are truly free. A song does take you to a different place… it takes you home.

Take care,

Happiness

Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears.
— John Lennon

A question that has been asked since the dawn of time… What is happiness? How do I acquire happiness? There is a different answer for each individual based on their understanding of happiness developed in the environment from which they grew up in. Here is a list of tips that have helped us personally find happiness and we hope you can find some enlightenment in them as well:

1. Don’t take yourself too seriously and let go 💟

It’s easy to get lost in the chaos of life. Rent is coming up, you’re behind in your classes or job and maybe your relationship is losing its fire. It. Will. Be. Okay. Life is all about how we perceive our circumstances and it’s okay to laugh a little even when things get tough. Having a sense of humor when things aren’t going your way allows you to persevere through hard work and a little luck. Letting go allows you to understand that some people who you have encountered are a part of your history, not your destiny. This act of letting go allows you to live in the present without anxiety.

2. Live life according to your values 🛡

Every man or woman should have a code or creed by which they live by. This ensures consistency and builds a routine you can stick to and be satisfied with. We are defined by what we value and our values translate into our actions. If you’re not sure what you value, sit down, take out a sheet of paper and write down what you truly admire. This will give you a blueprint upon which to draw your life's true direction from. This also creates a certain centrality or comfort in our lives which gives us a sense of peace.

3. Find gratitude every day 🌞

Waking up in the morning and being thankful puts life into a whole new perspective. Start with the roof over your head, then the air conditioning, then the clean sheets you’re in and you start to list off dozens of things you are grateful for. This aligns our mind early in the day so when things don’t go our way or disappoint us, we understand that these trials and tribulations are merely trivial. Just the fact we can see, touch, smell, hear, taste and think independently is a gift, that’s why they call it the present!

4. Dream big, dream often 🌟

It’s easy to get sucked into the realism of our lives. We live and die… that’s it. But where is the fun in that? Picture your life in a way that makes you smile and gets you moving. Create a vision board with all the things you would like to have on it with some motivational quotes. Look at it every morning and set some goals to make your dreams a reality. Not only will this make life more interesting, it will always give you something to occupy your time with. An idle mind is the devil's workshop. Life isn’t boring, boring people are boring.

5. Listen to your inner voice 🗣

Your inner voice is your higher self. The clearer the communication with your inner self the clearer your life’s course will appear. For all the things you seek such as courage, happiness, prosperity and motivation all lie within. Your inner voice is the orchestrator of your destiny and the more we fight it the more we stray from our path which provides a meaning much larger than we can perceive.

6. Don’t burden yourself with guilt 🥀

Guilt is your worst enemy. How are you supposed to climb a mountain if you have years’ worth of clutter crammed into your backpack? You may be able to climb that mountain with all that extra weight but you are making the climb a lot harder than it needs to be. Your guilt is weighing you down. Self reflect, don't dwell on it, forgive yourself and others and the world will open its arms to you. The worst prisons in the world are not the ones of bars and chains but the ones people don’t realize they’re currently trapped inside of. Free yourself of any past experiences, society’s forced dogmas and develop your own thoughts. Fully submerge yourself in the present for the past and future do not exist. The only thing that exists is the now and the time to enjoy life is now.

7. Be adaptable and open to change 🦁

Wouldn’t life be wonderful without all the insane unexpected plot twists? Life is a constant storm of opposing forces and the key to happiness is to learn how to embrace the storm with grace. The happiest people are the people that are aware that there will be bad days but they won’t last long. When adversity strikes you, take it for what it is. It isn’t some grave punishment from a higher power, it’s just a circumstance, a challenge. We all go through them. Don't complain and take it down. Being adaptable to change not only strengthens our will but it also sharpens our wisdom for tests that lie ahead.

8. Enjoy the little things 🐣

How can an artist paint a mountain range without being infatuated by it first? We must become infatuated with life before we can really experience it truly in its complexity. Start by enjoying the sun peeking its way into your window in the morning. Start by enjoying the smell of that freshly brewed coffee you prepared. Start by enjoying the air you breathe once you step outside. It is finding joy in the little things that will correspond in the enjoyment of the entire experience. How can one truly enjoy a garden without the enjoyment of tilling its soil?

9. Surround yourself with positive people 💫

As the old saying goes, “You are who your friends are.” Now obviously this can be interpreted in several ways, but the meaning we gather from this message is that the people you surround yourself with slowly starts to program your subconscious mind. These are the thoughts and feelings you may not be so aware of which can make them incredibly helpful or extremely dangerous. Surround yourself with positive people that support you with contagious positive vibes to help program your subconscious feelings. This is the nirvana, heaven or spiritual experience where happiness is on the deepest most constant level. The happiest people have mastered this so when “big” problems arise they see them as just another wind that will hit and brush against the sail.

10. Self-actualization vs. Self-image actualization 🎭

Many people spend their whole life trying to actualize the image of what they should be like when they should spend that time actualizing themselves. Embrace your weirdness, find people that are comfortable with themselves and life takes on a new light. There is nothing more attractive or luring than genuine authenticity.

11.  Learn to love and accept yourself ❣️

How could you possibly love the world if you don’t love yourself? Happiness will always be a few steps ahead if you’re chasing it so seize it in the moment! Take a breath and stop all the thoughts racing through your mind. Put on a nice piece of music and let your mind take a break. Smile and meditate on the things that you love about yourself. There has never been and never will be another person just like you. Inherently, you have capabilities no one has ever had or will ever have. Follow your passions and talents to share it with the world. Happiness isn’t entirely experienced until it’s shared.

Take care,

Mornings

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive- to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
— Marcus Aurelius

Today is your day. Let’s start right here right now. Focus on this exact moment and tell yourself that you will not be a victim of the day. You are a product of your past, not a prisoner of your past. Put the past behind you and tell yourself you’re going to enjoy the day. Look at yourself in the mirror this morning, take a deep breath, love what you see and tell yourself, “Don’t you ever die you beautiful beast.” It’s the middle of March in 2018, why wait any longer to take control of your life? Don’t wait. Start by taking control of your mornings and you will start to control your life’s direction.

Your mornings should be your sacred “Me” time. Treat yourself. Daily. When that alarm goes off don’t hit the snooze button, hit your LIVE ACTION button by launching out of your sheets into consciousness. Let the sun kiss your face and kiss it back with some positive energy and maybe a high flying chest-bump if you’re feeling it. When the rest of the world is sleeping you’re getting out of bed to make time for yourself and your goals. Throw on your favorite jam and get hyped. Slam a cup of coffee and do something you thoroughly enjoy to get the day started.

Morning rituals are so key. This could be meditating, reading, hiking, dancing or hitting some early morning cardio. Whatever gets your energy flowing, do it. Once an object is in motion it stays in motion. It’s science. You’re a meteor on a fire blazing crash course towards your dream and there is nothing in the universe that stop that kind of force. The power of the universe resides within you. Always has. Harness it and release it. Practice a morning ritual that gets you excited and that you can stick to. Make your “why” strong enough where that snooze button is just child’s play. You know what you have to do... let’s go.

Starting your morning with something that excites you allows you to have control of the day. When you’re running the day you take challenges for what they are and nothing more. When you’re driving to work throw something that motivates you on the aux and get your groove on. The only way to persevere through challenges in pursuit of your deepest desires is when you’re having fun in the process.

After reading this we hope you never let another day go by because this life experience is limitless. The only limits reside within. Open your eyes, smell the fresh air, visualize the life you truly desire and put in the work starting in the AM. When you face your reflection in the mirror when it’s all over don’t let the snooze button be the image staring back at you.

Take care,

-Drake Elden Scallon, Andrew William Clemons

Passion

Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.
— Martha Graham

Passion gives life its essence. It’s beautiful really. Passion is boundless, timeless and possesses such a powerful fragrance. Sounds a lot like eternal paradise doesn’t it? It’s because it is. We often times think this eternal paradise is tucked away in a faraway place. The place is here and now. If you live in the past you will be depressed. If you live in the future you will be anxious. Living your passions in the present will plunge you into the eternal paradise sauce.

The pursuit of your deepest passions gives life a distinct sensation that cannot be found elsewhere. Think of the people you love. That feeling feels out of this world because it is. A deeper place. A place that is true. When you live a life ignited by the fire of your passions the experience you have is worth living for. So, how does one find their true passions?

Authentic self-evaluation. Take some time to look at yourself in the mirror and remove all the thoughts thrown upon you from outsiders. Who are you? What do you value? What daydreams makes you smile? Once you realize what you can’t live without, pursue it with everything that you have and share it with the world. This is the road less traveled. This is the path that provides worth through blood and sweat. This journey will take you to places you’ve never been and will put you to tasks of grave importance to find your true self. Your values will be tested but staying true to them makes the journey worth it. Life is a constant battle between what you know you should or should not do. What will you fight day and night for?

Success is given to those who live out their passions. What defines success? Happiness. What defines happiness? Now that’s a question only you can answer. What makes you happy? Not temporarily happy but permanently happy. What excites you? Life is not so much about conquering it but conquering the limits within you on the way. Let your life be an exciting one, one you can hang your hat on and one where it’s not all about you. Find your talents, sharpen them and share them with the world. This act of giving will not only free your spirit but also express the truth to you.

Every morning center yourself with gratitude and remind yourself that today is a gift. You are a human being with the capacity to love and explore. There isn’t another living thing on this planet that has the capabilities you do. Please don’t let this go to waste. Don’t work to retire. Work to live. Once you let go of societies expectations and find something you love doing life gains a new perspective. Let go of your ego, put your thoughts into action and paddle though the cosmos with passion. Finding your passions and persevering through the trials of life will provide eternal paradise here now and forever.

Dogma

Don’t be trapped with dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
— Steve Jobs

All the heavens and the hells are within you. Your dogma, your heavens and hells, are the set of beliefs you tell yourself every day that remain true. Our lives are defined by our dogmas, sometimes blinding us or allowing us to see. What are some truths you’ve convinced yourself with that may be limiting your life experience? In solving any problem one must find the root cause of it. We live in a reality dictated by cause and effect. In order to change your life you have to discover the causes behind your actions to create lasting effects. What’s your cause? What effects will you have?

If you truly believe there is no point to life then you will live a life in direct correspondence to this dogma. Everyone since the dawn of time has put a different twist on understanding this thing we call life.  People are so passionate about religion because without a belief system it would be very difficult to operate in this chaos. We justify things such as murder based on dogmas. The gravity of this is troubling but also telling. A belief system is unbelievably powerful. If you truly believe that life is happening to you and not for you then you’ll live as a victim your entire life. We can sometimes be upset with our circumstances when in reality we play a large role in creating them.

However in life, things happen to us we have no control over. What’s your belief system when things don’t go your way? Do you see failure as opportunity or as a dead end? Lay out everything you like about your life and everything you don’t like. Change the truth behind your actions and you’re one step closer of stepping out of the shadow of your ego into the light of life. A better reality awaits. If you have convinced yourself to believe that you’re not going to get in shape there is no possible way you will get in shape. What are the ideas that make up your life? The beauty in being human is that we can change those beliefs in an instant. Change your dogma, change your life.

You could be reading this right now and agree with it all, some or none. You’re reading a blog post through a phone or a computer and contemplating your own thoughts which are giving your present circumstance existence. Form your beliefs with positivity and move in a positive direction. Be open to other’s viewpoints and form your own. Don’t fix your existence upon a lousy explanation. Explore more. Discover more. Create a cause that you could not possibly live without.

Take care,

Action

What we plant in the soil of contemplation, we shall reap in the harvest of action.
— Meister Eckhart

Once you die you’re not coming back. You may go to heaven, reincarnate as a clover or a coral rose, or this could be it, but you won’t come back in your present form. The probability of you being born is 1 out of 400 trillion. Take some time to think about that. We sometimes go about our lives without urgency or purpose and it’s disheartening. Your life is fleeting by the second. Every second that goes by you are withering away and we tend to wait for the “perfect” time to act on our dreams. If it has not hit you already, the time to act is now.

When your life starts, you are an amateur farmer dropping your seed of being into the roaring plains of the cosmos. The cosmos will not grow the seed for you but will provide the necessary components such as light, water, soil and nutrients. The actions taken by the inexperienced farmer will guide the seed’s transformation into a great big tree of life. Such a transformation cannot be accomplished without acquiring wisdom over time. Learning how to preserve the life of the seed will build its defenses against the inevitable winters to come.

Sometimes life throws us winter storms that destroy years’ worth of growth but how will you respond to these tests? Will you sit around and ask why it happened or will you swallow your pride and see tragedy as opportunity? Don’t make the same mistake twice and carry on. Don’t let your inaction cause you fear and entrap you. Action is fear’s antidote. Action gives us the courage and confidence to pursue anything. Sometimes persistent rigorous action will burn out your fire so for your own happiness find your way to enjoy the process.

After 21 days, the repeated practice of an action becomes a habit. Once habits are formed, good or bad, they can have tremendous impact on our life’s routine. Sound routine… sound life. Though through the tests of time, some habits, even our strongest, are shattered to pieces in an instant. What causes this? The belief behind the action crumbles due to devastating circumstances. Actions + Consistency = Habits. Habits + Belief = Results. Form your habits around an unbreakable belief. This indestructible belief otherwise known as your purpose requires massive action and attention. Start out by doing the little things right and eventually you’ll become something much larger than you are now. You can have the life you want one small step at a time.

Picture yourself as an old enlightened farmer sitting on your rocking chair on the back porch during equinox, the first day of spring. As you strum your guitar with your blistered beaten hands, you watch the sun set right over the tree line. The tree you’ve grown your whole life stands tall providing comfort and security to so many other living things. If you would have given up in that particularly harsh winter you would just be looking at a shriveled-up stump rotting from decay benefitting no one. Will you give up when things get difficult? Or will you realize it’s not about the individual life of the tree but what it can provide for others? That is worth saving, so act.

Take care,

Energy

The energy of the mind is the essence of life
— Aristotle

Some may say "life is like a roller coaster". This analogy eludes that the individual has absolutely no control of the direction of the coaster. We believe the life experience is more like a surfer navigating his/her wave. The waves will throw you beautiful tubed barrels or gnarly washed out sections. Sometimes the best barrels are created after the washed out section, so don't lose that positive energy that attracted you in the first place. In life we have a symbiotic relationship with the wave; even though the conditions may not always be the best, enjoy the energy of the ocean.

Your vibe attracts your tribe. When you see a family member you haven’t seen in months you can't resist to glow yourself or feel their glow. The energy family brings has a remarkable impact on your existence. We must be incredibly mindful of the energy we are radiating to the world because it determines our experience. Being able to throw a lasso around your ego, gripping it tight, and arranging your thoughts or (consciousness) in a healthy manner creates fulfillment. Through fulfillment you can seek your energy at its core. We don’t necessarily get what we want, we get what we are.

The universe is like the human body, almost identical in function. The body cannot acknowledge unhealthy or healthy foods but it will process them regardless. If you shout out to the universe something negative or positive the universe will process them regardless. If you believe life sucks well.. life sucks. If you believe life is good well… life is good. Take this time to evaluate what you are and what you’re putting out to the world. What do you stand for? What creed do you live by? What makes you, you? The deeper your beliefs, the more depth your life will have.

The more that we lose ourselves in something bigger than ourselves, the more energy we can cultivate. The more energy you possess, the closer you will get to finding your truth. Don’t fill your mind with things such as pride, arrogance, envy or greed because such negative energies will block your connection to the heavens. Energy waves travel through troughs and crests, ups and downs. This is the movement of life. We get so caught up in dreading the troughs we forget their function; to take us to new heights, new crests. Harness the energy of your inner animal, yell out your dreams and don't forget to enjoy the unpredictable waves beyond the horizon.

Ego

Leave your ego at the door every morning, and just do some truly great work. few things will make you feel better than a job brilliantly done.
— Robin S. Sharma

Have you ever felt like your life is a lie? Have you ever felt like this world isn’t what it seems? Have you ever felt like life isn’t fair? These are all thoughts whispering to you by a little monster called your ego. Growing up in the hectic times of 2018, how can we make sure we are taking care of ourselves amidst the chaos? Mastering your dark horse named ego, hopping on the saddle and galloping through the mysterious forest of your subconscious to find fulfillment.

Most people have a hard time distinguishing the difference between their own thoughts and the thoughts of their ego. If you've ever had thoughts like, “I suck at this,” or “I’m not as hot as him/her,” or “I can’t do this,” these are all thoughts your ego loves to entertain. Becoming aware of and defeating your finite perception of yourself will allow yourself to be infinite. You will realize your potential is unlimited and life will present new opportunities. Imagine looking into a dusty mirror and all you see is your reflection with a face you’ve never seen before. We enslave ourselves by the masks we wear so for the sake of your transcendence just be yourself. How could one see a sunrise when living in the dark?

Going after your dream can be discouraging because things don’t always pan out the way you thought they would. Bingo. That’s your ego telling you how your dreams should pan out. Your ego will keep your life in a glass box with determined corners and edges. This allows life to be safe and predictable whereas once you break those glass walls you will gain wisdom through the unpredictable exploration of the beyond. Your true calling, which is quite literally out of this world, will provide the fulfillment you seek.

Every morning wake up, follow your intuition and let ego’s negative thoughts be a reminder of how incredible life can be on the other side. Be aware of your demons dancing on ego’s undertones, appreciate them for their function and use that knowledge to create the best life for yourself. The city of gold that so many people seek is a symbolic delusion of the paradise that resides within.

Take care,

Travel

I’m not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.
— Mary Anne Radmacher

The adventures you daydream about cultivate a reality you couldn’t live without. It awakens us. It takes us back to our roots and reminds us that we are meant to explore the world's nature and our primal instincts. We have a deep connection to this Earth, our home. A lot of us live our whole lives just sitting on the dock when there is so much waiting for us across the sea. Traveling is the trip out of the bay that gives our days a sense of excitement and purpose.

When exploring, if you can’t let go of where you've been you'll never be able to experience the depths of traveling. Traveling allows us to eliminate our ego, break down our prejudices and have a deep appreciation for the things that make up our life. If you are reading one chapter of a book your whole life because it’s familiar how do you expect to appreciate the rest of the story? You can drive 5 hours in Texas and still be in Texas. You can drive five hours in Europe and pass through 5 different countries. If you’re used to the same people, same places and same routines, it will be unbelievably difficult to enhance your perspective because that is all you know.

The broader our perspective, the more we can appreciate the simple things in life. If you’re so caught up with your school/work week, how are you going to enjoy that early morning shower or breakfast? If you forgot if you washed your hair and wash it again it’s probably time to slow it down a bit partner. It is a miracle you know… the fact that you are even here. We forget these luxuries of life because we strangle ourselves with the bullshit of the world like we see in the news every day. Travel to a faraway place, become vulnerable, experience another world and create your own unique viewpoints on what is happening on our planet. Your life will never be the same when you see it through a different pair of eyes. That’s not something they want you to hear in the news.

We all have that one place we really want to go to. This subconscious call to action is similar to any call to action in your life. That little voice inside us tends to point us in some pretty profound treks so don’t let that good dream become a distant scream. Follow the sound of your spirit and answer the call to adventure. For the wonders you seek will make you complete.

Take care,

Consciousness

We have been to the moon, we have charted the depths of the ocean and the heart of the atom, but we have a fear of looking inward to ourselves because we sense that is where all the contradictions flow together.
— Terence McKenna

We are all one. No matter your race, language, culture or ethnicity we are all one organism. What is the common experience of all human beings from the dawn of time? Consciousness, the ability to think. This is how we are all connected. Now, one may ask, “What exactly is consciousness?” Well, here is a thought.

Human beings tend to remember moments, not time. Do you ever think of being a little kid and a few memories seem to standout above the rest? These are the moments, good or bad, that you have repeated to yourself over and over again. Oh, how powerful the mind can be! So many events occur during the course of our lives that it is impossible to process it all. Therefore, you must be careful on which moments you chose to repeat to yourself every day. The control of your consciousness controls your quality of life.

Train the way you talk to yourself and it will change your reality. We are truly a product of what we think about. Internal communication is what allows you to paint the picture of your life. Nourish your soul with humorous, adventurous and meaningful moments that have occurred in your life. Rejoice in the present for you are currently in a plot line of the most interesting story an author could possibly think of. Craft a future you are happy in, which starts from your mentality in this moment. Feel, taste and smell the freedom and fulfillment that comes along with it. There will be monumental highs and groundbreaking lows but that is what makes the life experience so beautiful and delicate. You are currently about to write the next sentence in your mind and then you will act on that thought. No matter where you currently stand in your life know that you have the power of choice.

A good story has the power to impact every single human being on the Earth. This is evident in culture, rituals and religion. All religions and belief systems are based upon a story with profound truths that impact its readers on an intimate subconscious level. Take some time in silence, think about the raw experiences that have made you who you are and begin your best story. Separate from the common crowd. Push the limits. Be the hero of your story, not a side character that get kills off in season 3. There are things that happen to us that we have no control over but we do have control over one thing, how we decide to act. Let your thoughts drive your actions and take control over your life. Think on this philosophy and seize the day. For there will never be another January 22, 2018.

Take care,

The Prologue

I dream of painting and then I paint my dream
— Vincent Van Gogh

There comes a point in everyone’s life when we are exhausted and enough is enough. We all hit a point where we ask, “What am I really doing on this Earth?” “What is the purpose of all of this?” For some, the answer to this question is that we live and die. Period. Though for some of us life has a different definition. One with a sense of adventure and purpose. Life gives us the opportunity to understand the primal, raw, and uncharted trek providing hidden clues about your individual calling. These “clues” that you find allow you to become the best version of yourself. It is up to the individual to interpret these clues which can be: certain interactions with others, reoccurring symbols, unexpected opportunities to grow, finding love, and instances where you find yourself feeling in sync with the world. So how do you put together all the clues and find the answer to your life? Midys & Merchants has a solution to this fundamental obstacle of the human experience. Midys has provided the meaning we have sought since our creation; we would like to bring out the passion within you to be the best person you can be. Listen to the rhythm of your intuition, plunge into the abyss of your subconscious and take rightful action.

We know this sounds pretty rowdy, but life is so mysterious, fun and fulfilling when you have the courage to do what you need to do. We all admire figures throughout time such as Theodore Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, John Muir, William Shakespeare, Vincent Van Gogh, and Anne Frank. Why? We admire them because they listened to the sound of their inner voice and followed through regardless of what society demanded of them. Homo sapiens all share this fundamental experience, the voice inside of us. Midys & Merchants is a symbolic manifestation of the inner voice that has been guiding our lives since birth. We want to teach you tricks, tips and proper philosophy on how to be the best version of yourself through the message of our company. This company is created around positivity, building healthy habits and living a wholesome life. Let us share with you our story.

Midys & Merchants is a clothing company built for the young adult rooted with an outdoor spirit. We are determined to create a clothing line that embraces style and comfort with an all-encompassing rugged functionality. Our classic swanky threads are designed down to the fiber to provide the confidence to pursue your calling of ambition, adventure and that well deserved night-out. It has been our grind since March of 2015 and we cannot wait to unveil the full collection.

We look forward to sharing our experiences, passion and insight with you. Thank you for taking the time to read this, we will be posting every Monday to give you some motivation to start your week. Have a wonderful day and stay fresh.
